The 2010 Breakfast at the Brickyard, presented by ProLiance Energy, guests enjoyed a hearty Hoosier breakfast, the opportunity to see the 2010 500 Festival Queen crowned by the legendary Mario Andretti, toured the garages and experienced Pole Day for the 2010 Indianapolis 500®. Also, the 500 Festival welcomed past Indianapolis 500 winners, Parnelli Jones and Tom Sneva for a Q&A session during breakfast.

Jones and Sneva are Indianapolis 500® legends, both setting speed records during their competitive era’s.  Jones was the first IndyCar racer to top the speed of 150 mph; Sneva the first to top 200 mph.  They won the Indianapolis 500® 20 years apart.  Jones won in 1963 and Sneva in 1983.

 

Jones, who is well-known for racing many types of cars in different series, won the Indianapolis 500® in 1963.  He retired from racing with six IndyCar wins, four NASCAR wins and a host of other first place finishes.  In 1990 he was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in 1992.

 

Sneva, also known as The Gas Man, has had a distinguished career with an Indianapolis 500® win in 1983 and three pole positions in 1977, 1978 and 1984.  In 2005, Sneva was admitted to the prestigious Motorsports Hall of Fame in America.
