
Accounting Internship, Spring 2012
40 hours per week requested
January 30 - June 29, 2012
Supervisor: Jen Lowe, Director of Finance
The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong analytical skills, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. This position also requires the ability to take initiative and work independently in many different areas. Accounting and Finance majors preferred.
The candidate must also be flexible and willing to put in additional hours during peak event times during the entire month of May, with an understanding that this position is a little longer than the typical internship position.
Special note:
Manual labor will be involved in this job, so please be sure you are able and willing to do manual labor before responding to this opportunity. Examples include moving water containers, large signs, tables, chairs and other event type items.
Specific responsibilities:
Assist in managing ticketing database and fulfillment.
Learning Outcomes: Database management, attention to detail and organization
Assist in preparing timely invoices and receipts for all vendors and customers.
Learning objectives: Organization, initiative and attention to detail
Assist in maintaining and preparing financial reports and records.
Learning objectives: Organization, leadership and initiative
Assist in maintaining Corporate Membership financial records.
Learning objectives: Organization, initiative and attention to detail
Provide support for events.
Learning objectives: Event planning, problem-solving and team work
Stipend:
The intern will receive a monthly stipend of $800 per month for a 40 hour work week. Any hours worked under a 40 hour work week will be rated using the above scale.

College credit:
The 500 Festival will work with any educational institution to ensure that the intern receives proper credit for their experience. This includes any forms, documentation or correspondence with the internship coordinator that is required or necessary.
