500 Festival Post Race Party
Celebrate with Friends and Family at the Post Race Party
The OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon isn't just for runners or walkers. Come down to the 500 Festival Post Race Party and cheer on the thousands of participants as they cross the finish line. You'll be so motivated after seeing all of the different types of people crossing the finish line that you'll want to be among the first to register for next year's Mini-Marathon.
The 500 Festival Post Race Party in Military Park is a fun place for both participants and spectators. This beautiful urban park has plenty of grassy areas and shade trees for relaxation. There's no better way to celebrate than with an ice cold Michelob ULTRA, enjoy great live music, a live video feed of the race, and outstanding food from local restaurants and specialty food vendors. Don't forget to bring along extra cash!
Family Reunion Area
Family and friends should plan to reunite with race participants at our McDonald's Family Reunion Area located in the north section of Military Park. This area will be clearly signed with alphabetical letters. Please plan to meet your party by the letter that corresponds with your last name. You will not be allowed to meet your friends in the Runners’ Services Area after the finish line. Hang around the Family Reunion Area to enjoy the sounds on one of two entertainment stages. Experience a #MomentofWonder post-race. Stop by the McDonald's® McCafe® vehicle for free McCafé Coffee or smoothie samples & cool McDonald's swag!
Watch live race coverage
Family and friends can watch the live coverage of the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon on WTHR and our big screen TV located along the final mile, across from the grandstands at the finish line. For spectators, a bleacher section along New York Street (accessible from inside the Post Race Party) provides a fantastic view of the finish line and the big screen TV. Also, live feeds are available in the Beer Garden and Family Reunion Area.
Official OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon merchandise, including I Finished, I Run this Town® and I Ran This Town shirts, will be available for purchase at the Post Race Party. Some items may be sold out by race day. Come to the Mini-Marathon Expo for the best selection.
Free massages and chocolate milk
Participants can refuel and rejuvenate their muscles with a free massage and bottle of chocolate milk in the American Dairy Association Refuel and Rejuvenation Area at the 500 Festival Post Race Party.
Running Club Village
If you're running with a club, training program, or company, you'll want to explore the Running Club Village to find your group's tent. Tents must be pre-purchased through the 500 Festival. Many groups reserve space to hold post race celebrations of their own with BBQs, cold beverages, music, and more. For more information, call (317) 927-3378 or email email@example.com.
Sponsors and groups will be located throughout the park area providing a variety of giveaways and hands-on activities throughout the day.
Post Race Party Security
In order to maximize public safety during the 2015 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and Finish Line 500 Festival 5K, the Post Race Party will be completely contained using fencing, allowing the public to enter and exit using designated checkpoints. This model will not only improve the safety of the event, but will increase ease of participation for event-goers by opening up previously contained areas in Military Park such as the Beer Garden.
For your safety and the safety of others, the following are prohibited inside the 500 Festival Post Race Party:
- No coolers
- No pets (other than service animals)
- No bicycles, motorized or gear-driven vehicles, skateboards, roller skates or in-line skates
- No weapons
In addition, the following enhanced security measures will be implemented to create the safest environment possible for the public, volunteers and participants of the Mini-Marathon and 5K:
- Participants are asked not to bring or wear backpacks or duffle bags to the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. Please be aware that all bags and backpacks will be subject to search by security personnel.
- Backpacks or duffle bags will not be accepted at the UPS Gear Check stations. Only the blue Finish Line/BlueMile goodie bag which will be distributed to participants at packet pickup will be accepted at the UPS Gear Check stations.
