The Pointer Sisters will headline the 2010 Regions 500 Festival Snakepit Ball, presented by Cindy & Paul Skjodt

INDIANAPOLIS (January 25, 2010) – We are excited and we just can’t hide it as the 500 Festival announced today attendees of the 2010 Regions 500 Festival Snakepit Ball, presented by Cindy and Paul Skjodt, will be dancing to the music of the dynamic pop and R&B group The Pointer Sisters.  Spanning four decades together the Grammy award winning trio recorded a string of hits that dominated the charts during the 70’s and 80’s. The Pointer Sisters have won numerous gold and platinum awards throughout their 40 year history.  The dynamic group will entertain guests at the May 29 gala, the eve of the 2010 Indianapolis 500®.

Taking place in the Indiana Roof Ballroom, the Snakepit Ball has become a race-eve tradition.  Known as the place to see the stars, the black-tie party includes red carpet arrivals by celebrities in town for race weekend and special VIP guests.  Dinner and dancing will round out the celebration.

The Pointer Sisters debuted in 1973 with their self-titled album and achieved early success with such hits as “He’s So Shy,” “Slow Hand” and the cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Fire.” Their 1983 album, Break Out, was certified triple-platinum, making it the biggest selling album of the Pointer Sisters’ career. In 1984, the Pointer Sisters released four Billboard Top 10 singles in a row with “Automatic,” “Jump (For My Love),” “I’m So Excited” and, from the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack, “Neutron Dance.” The success of the album earned the sisters two Grammy Awards and two American Music Awards.

The Grammy award winning trio will be performing several of their popular hits such as “He’s So Shy,” “I’m So Excited” and “Jump (For My Love),” songs that are sure to keep the crowd up and doing the “Neutron Dance.”

The Snakepit Ball will begin at 6 p.m. with celebrity and guest arrivals; followed by dinner at 7 p.m. WISH-TV will televise live from the event’s red carpet arrivals.

Tickets will be available by calling (317) 614-6119, and are $275 per person. Corporate tables may be reserved when purchasing tickets.
