Volunteer for the Education Program
Make a difference in a fourth grader’s day
The 500 Festival and Indianapolis 500 Education Program, presented by Indiana University Health, is a free program to all students in the state of Indiana. Students learn about the history of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the history of the 500 Festival through thought-provoking, interesting and fun lessons and projects. After studying in the classroom, schools can visit the Speedway in April or May for a unique educational study trip.
If you like racing, enjoy being out at the track and want to make a difference in a fourth grader’s day, then this is the opportunity for you!
Event Day Opportunities :
Guides – Take these kids through an experience they will never forget! We need you to help guide a school to the different learning stations throughout the day. We will provide the schedule. All you have to do is lead the way!
Stations – we need volunteers to staff the various learning stations. We educate you on the details of the station and then you turn around and educate the hundreds of fourth grade students looking up at you, just wanting to learn more!
