Volunteer Opportunities
Current Open Volunteer positions with the 500 Festival:
Runners’ Services – Fruit Cups/ Pretzels Distribution, Saturday, May 4 (6:00 am – 1:00 pm; great for groups and family or friends to do together!)
*Volunteers MUST be 16 years of age or older before the date of the event.
Want to be a part of the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon fun without actually running the morning of the Mini-Marathon? Sign up as a Runners’ Services volunteer and hand out fruit cups or pretzels, along with a well-earned congratulations, to the more than 35,000 finishers as they celebrate their accomplishment! All volunteers will receive an official 500 Festival volunteer t-shirt, a 2013 500 Festival commemorative volunteer pin, and access to the volunteer hospitality area, where volunteers can enjoy food and beverages during their break.
**This position requires standing on your feet for the duration of the shift. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age or older.
Ushers for the IPL 500 Festival Parade, Saturday, May 25 (9:00 am – 2:00 pm)
*Volunteers MUST be 16 years of age or older before the date of the event.
The IPL 500 Festival Parade is the nation's third largest - which means there are LOTS of spectators who need shown to their seats! Greet spectators, show them to their seats, and then once the parade has started, sit back, relax and enjoy one of the nation’s largest and most celebrated parades!
All volunteers will receive an official 500 Festival volunteer t-shirt, a 2013 500 Festival commemorative volunteer pin, and access to the volunteer hospitality area, where volunteers can enjoy food and beverages after their shift.
Please note, your end time will vary based on where you are positioned on the route. 2:00 is an estimate. Thank you for being flexible!
Please do not bring children or family members with you unless they are 16 years old AND are registered as a volunteer.
