The OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon is one of the nation’s largest road runs and second largest half marathon. Known as the Indy Mini, the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon is the 500 Festival’s largest fundraiser. Race registrations help support the 500 Festival’s free youth programs and events. The 2018 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon will take place on Saturday, May 5, marking the 42nd running of this iconic race.
Within its 41-year history, many stories have emerged around the excitement. From United States Olympians, Meb Keflezighi and Frank Shorter, to IndyCar legend Tony Kanaan, to John Green, New York Times bestselling author, to a family running in Crocs (yes you read that correctly), to the countless family traditions, the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon provides competition and camaraderie for all participants.
The course for the Indy Mini is flat and fast and appeals to runners and walkers alike. It begins near the intersection of Washington and West Streets in downtown Indianapolis, heads west toward the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and includes a lap around the famed 2.5 mile track before heading back downtown to the finish line at Military Park.
